Polo? Pretty. But “Polo For A Purpose”? Now that’s pretty perfect.
Palm Beachers tend to stay pretty close to home when it comes to galas, events, and recreation. The major exception? Polo.
Now in its fourth year, Polo for a Purpose is a local charity event benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Last year’s sellout raised $360,000 to aid LLS in its mission to find cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma
Expect Monday, Jan. 16, to be an action-packed day at the prestigious International Polo Club in Wellington. Festivities begin at noon, with a poolside cocktail reception, gourmet luncheon, both live and silent auctions and, of course, a professional four-on-four high goal polo match.
After the match, Gipsy Sound Revolution takes the stage. Launched in 2011 by former Gipsy Kings drummer Cedric Leonardi, the band says it’s “blazing a new musical trail with an ecstatic Indo-Gypsy sound revolution.”
Event organizers hope to draw double last year’s attendance of 600, so book your tickets and tents now.
