More and more, we’re seeing Palm Beachers transcend stuffy and ornate decor in favor of uncomplicated lines, un-fussy function, and less literal art. We applaud what’s happening all over the island; restoration preserves the homes’ iconic Mediterranean forms while transforming the interiors into smart, sleek 21st century masterpieces.
And where to browse for the right art? The Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary Art Fair, presented this year from January 12-15 at the West Palm Beach Tent Site – you know, that open city block between Okeechobee and Lakeside, just east of CityPlace.
Galleries from all over the world (London, The Hague, Toronto, New York, Santa Monica) will present never-before exhibited works from the Modern, Post-War and Pop eras, as well as works from emerging artists. Collectors at an invitation-only preview will get the first glimpse of the pieces before the fair opens to the public.
Single-day passes are $25 ($15 for seniors) and a multi-day pass is $55. The schedule:
- Friday, January 13 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Saturday, January 14 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
- Sunday, January 15 11 a.m.-6 p.m.
