Walking Worth

Time: 11 a.m.

Date: Wednesdays, from December through April.

Place: Via Amore, across from Chanel and Tiffany.

Look for an elegant gent in a wide-brimmed white hat. That’s Mr. Rick Rose, grand master of the Historical Walking Tours of Worth Avenue, which begin again this week after the traditional summer hiatus. Lasting approximately 75 minutes, the tours cover the history of Worth Avenue, its architectural importance and influence on the world of fashion.

As you stroll, you’ll also come to understand the development of the social scene that established Palm Beach as America’s first resort destination of the Gilded Age.

The tours cost just $10 per person, will benefit Tri-County Animal Rescue. Last year, the tours raised more than $7,500 for the Palm Beach Zoo.

You can’t make a reservation; just arrive at 256 Worth Avenue at departure time. For more information, call (561) 659-6909 or visit the Worth Avenue Association website.
